“See you in September” was a song from the 1960s where a young man is yearning for his girlfriend to return in September after she’s been away for a long summer vacation. Similarly, the economy has been yearning for an interest rate cut after the Fed’s long summer vacation, and it looks like it will come in September.
Conditions are coming together which make an interest rate cut likely at the Federal Reserve’s meeting in September. Inflation is continuing to slow, while the economy continues to exhibit limp, but mostly stable growth.
